CAPITULO I
De la Denominación, Constitución, Fines, Domicilio y Distintivos
ARTICULO 1º – La Asociación fundada el 3 de mayo de 1914 se denominará “LIGA UNIVERSITARIA DE DEPORTES”.
Art. 2º – Se constituirá con los clubes y otras entidades que se admitan como afiliados.
Art.3º – Sus fines serán los siguientes:
A) Dirigir y fomentar la práctica de los deportes entre estudiantes y titulados en las condiciones que se establezcan en el Reglamento General.
B) Encarar sus actividades deportivas sólo como manifestación del ejercicio físico, educacional, recreativo e higiénico.
C) Vincularse con otras instituciones del mismo carácter nacionales o extranjeras, con la finalidad de disputar justas deportivas y estrechar vínculos de amistad entre sus componentes.
D) El carácter de la Liga es netamente deportivo y exclusivamente de aficionados; en consecuencia no tolerará que los clubes encaren sus actividades con fines de explotación comercial.
E) La Liga se mantendrá ajena a cuestiones políticas y/o religiosas, y en general a toda otra que no tenga relación a los deportes.
Art. 4º- El domicilio legal de la Liga será la ciudad de Montevideo.
Art. 5º- Los distintivos de la Liga serán:
A) Bandera: constará de tres franjas horizontales de igual medida, dos azules y una blanca entre ambas, otra franja roja diagonal que llevará la leyenda: “L.U. de D.”.
B) Vestimenta: el uniforme de los equipos representativos de la Liga será el siguiente:
a) Medias celestes con puño blanco
b) Pantalón azul
c) Camiseta celeste con vivos blanco, con el distintivo de la Liga en la parte superior sobre el lado izquierdo y números blancos en la espalda.
CAPITULO II
De la afiliación
ARTICULO 6º- A los efectos del cumplimiento del artículo 2º) entiéndase por club, toda agrupación organizada constituida por aficionados universitarios, en las condiciones establecidas en el reglamento general, que tengan autoridades constituidas y se ajusten a normas que no se opongan a las de esta Liga.
Art. 7º- Entiéndese por afiliación el acto volitivo de un club o entidad, que solicita integrar la Liga, aceptando tácitamente el conocimiento de sus Estatutos y Reglamentos así como su acatamiento a éstos o los que en el futuro pudieran modificarse o aprobarse así como aquellas resoluciones que emanen de autoridades estatutarias y/o reglamentariamente autorizadas a dictarlas.
Art.8º- La afiliación deberá solicitarse durante el período fijado por el Reglamento General y con las formalidades establecidas en el presente. Tendrá carácter permanente y se otorgará por mayoría absoluta de componentes de la Asamblea General.
Art. 9º- La solicitud de afiliación será formulada por las autoridades competentes del peticionante y constará de la siguiente información:
A) Nombre del club o entidad, el cual deberá ser apropiado a juicio de la Asamblea y desprovisto en absoluto de toda tendencia o significación política, religiosa, industrial y/o comercial.
B) Establecer los colores y distintivos que lo caracterizarán
C) Fijar domicilio legal.
D) Autoridades que gobiernan el club o entidad en el momento de solicitar la afiliación.
E) Adjuntar copia del estatuto y/o reglamentos que rigen al peticionante.
Art. 10º- La afiliación se suspende:
A) A solicitud expresa del club o entidad presentada por escrito y firmada por las autoridades reconocidas ante la Liga.
B) Por resolución de la Asamblea General, por mayoría absoluta de votos presentes.
C) De acuerdo a las disposiciones establecidas en el Estatuto y/o Reglamento General.
D) De acuerdo a las disposiciones del Código de Penas.
Art.11º- La afiliación se pierde:
A) A solicitud expresa del club o entidad presentada por escrito y firmada por las autoridades reconocidas ante la Liga.
B) Por resolución de la Asamblea General por mayoría de 2/3 de sus componentes.
C) Por la no inscripción en el campeonato Oficial de la División que integra.
D) En los casos previstos en este Estatuto, Reglamento General y Código de Penas.
E) Cuando la pérdida de afiliación es resultancia de un fallo del Tribunal de Penas, el mismo será promulgado por la Asamblea General y hasta tanto ésta no se reúna, luego de emitido el fallo, el club o entidad permanecerá con la afiliación suspendida.
Art. 12- La suspensión de la afiliación tiene por efecto privar al suspendido de todas las prerrogativas que de la afiliación emanan sin liberarlo en forma alguna de las obligaciones que aquella exige: el máximo de la pena de suspensión de la afiliación será de un año.
La suspensión de la afiliación cesará:
A) A solicitud expresa del club en las mismas condiciones formales y para la misma hipótesis que prevé el literal A) del art. 10), aprobada por el Consejo de Neutrales.
B) Por resolución de la Asamblea General, citada a tales efectos, por mayoría de votos presentes cuando la suspensión tenga su origen en la hipótesis prevista en el literal B) del art. 10).
C) Por el cese de la causa que diere origen a la suspensión, acreditada que sea ante el organismo que entendió en dicha suspensión, en la hipótesis prevista en el literal C) del art. 10).
D) Por haberse cumplido la sanción impuesta por el tribunal competente.
Art. 13- La pérdida de afiliación traerá aparejada para el desafiliado la desvinculación definitiva con la Liga. El mínimo y máximo de la pena de pérdida de afiliación serán de un año y diez años respectivamente.
La afiliación se recuperará en todas las hipótesis previstas en el art. 11) cuando la Asamblea General, citada a tal efecto, así lo resuelve por mayoría de 2/3 de votos de sus componentes.
