Frente a la evolución del COVID-19 en el mundo, se suspende temporalmente el Panamericano.
El Comité Ejecutivo de FISU AMERICA junto al Comité Organizador de los II FISUAMERICA GAMES Mérida 2020, frente a la evolución de la pandemia de COVID-19 (coronavirus), tanto en América como en el resto del mundo, han decidido, como medida preventiva de emergencia, suspender temporalmente los II JUEGOS FISU AMERICA que tendrían lugar entre el 30 de mayo y el 11 de junio en la ciudad de Mérida – Yucatán – México. Ver comunicado oficial.
Esta postergación es al momento indefinida pero la organización informa que la nueva fecha del evento será informada con al menos 60 días de anticipación.
Desde la Liga Universitaria de Deportes entendemos esta decisión que tiene como objetivo proteger la salud de todos los miembros de la familia FISU AMÉRICA.
Seguiremos atentos al avance de esta situación y a las directivas de las autoridades pertinentes, manteniéndonos en contacto para poder brindarles nueva información.

En el día de ayer, las autoridades de FISU informaron también que la “2020 FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy”, que estaba programada entre el 10 y 16 de junio 2020 en Kazán, Rusia, se postergará para el mes de setiembre.
