La selección universitaria se quedó con el título de campeón de esta disciplina en los Juegos Universitarios Argentinos y acá te contamos los detalles.
La Liga Universitaria de Deportes dijo presente en la edición 2023 de los Juegos Universitarios Argentinos (JUAR) en la región CABA y el básquetbol 3×3 conquistó la medalla de oro en esta competencia, mientras que en 5×5 el equipo no pudo acceder a semifinales.
El sábado 17 de junio comenzó la actividad para el equipo dirigido por Gonzalo Caneiro y Alfredo Russo, que debutó con una ajustada derrota por 79 a 76 ante el Instituto Universitario River Plate.
En el segundo encuentro y en otro partidazo, la Celeste universitaria no pudo con la Universidad Argentina de la Empresa y tras caer 73 a 66 no logró acceder a las semifinales del torneo que luego definieron los dos rivales que vencieron a Uruguay.

El lunes 19 de junio fue el turno del 3×3 y el torneo que se disputó en el Club Social y Deportivo Yupanqui tuvo a la Celeste universitaria consagrándose como el mejor equipo de la mano de Ignacio Cabrera como entrenador.
Los jugadores de la selección universitaria de básquetbol 3×3 fueron Gabriel Castro (J.M.L.M.), Lucas Vasallucci (J.M.L.M.), Fabrizio Viacava (Auriblanco) y Matías Jasidakis (J.M.L.M.).
El equipo comenzó el torneo con triunfo ante UdelaR por 21-11, luego venció a ISEF en su segunda presentación por 14 a 10 y finalmente cayó con el Instituto Universitario River Plate por 18-10 cerrando la serie con el pasaje asegurado a las semifinales.
En esa instancia, la selección universitaria derrotó a la Universidad de Buenos Aires por 22 a 11 y pasó a la final. En el partido por el título, le ganó a UTN por 18 a 11 y terminó celebrando la conquista de la medalla de oro en el Club Yupanqui.
