Uruguay será sede del FISU América Fútbol 11 que se jugará del 22 de mayo al 2 de junio en Punta del Este y en esta nota repasamos las sedes que tendrá este torneo que viene organizando la Liga Universitaria de Deportes con el apoyo de FISU América.
Este certamen tendrá la presencia de universidades de países de todo el continente con equipos en la rama masculina, así como también en la femenina.
En tal sentido, vale repasar las sedes deportivas que tendrá este gran evento que promete ser uno de los grandes atractivos de la temporada de torneos que están dentro del calendario internacional de FISU América.
Complejo Solanas
La renovada cancha de césped sintético del Complejo Solanas será el escenario de la fase de grupos del FISU América Fútbol 11 que se disputará en Punta del Este del 33 de mayo al 2 de junio próximo.
Se trata de una nueva cancha que se está terminando de construir en la que los jugadores y jugadoras participantes mezclarán su espíritu de competencia con la camaradería en medio de un entorno natural inigualable.
Es que el Complejo Solanas servirá también de alojamiento para todas las delegaciones que participarán del FISU América Fútbol 11 en Punta del Este.
Estadio del Club Libertad de San Carlos
Este escenario con mucha historia dentro de los campeonatos de la Organización del Fútbol del Interior (OFI) será sede de las semifinales del FISU América Fútbol 11.
El estadio recibió el nombre de Álvaro Pérez en abril de 1960 y varios años antes —en agosto de 1953— el club ya se había hecho con el predio para comenzar a construir tribunas y vestuarios.
El Estadio Álvaro Pérez cuenta con red lumínica desde 1964 y en 1981 en el aniversario número 50 de la institución, las dos tribunas fueron bautizadas con los nombres de Concepción García (Tribuna Oeste) y Florencio Sánchez (Tribuna Este).
El escenario está ubicado sobre la calle Carlos Alberto Cal, en pleno centro urbano de la ciudad de San Carlos y a 20 kilómetros del Complejo Solanas, donde estarán alojadas las delegaciones.
Popularmente conocido como el Campus de Maldonado, este estadio fue inaugurado en 1994 de cara a la Copa América de fútbol que se celebró en Uruguay en 1995 y que precisamente ganó la Celeste tras vencer en la final a Brasil por penales.
Ubicado a 12 kilómetros del Complejo Solanas, el Estadio Domingo Burgueño Miguel está enclavado a una zona netamente deportiva denominada Campus de Maldonado que cuenta con la piscina olímpica, la pista de atletismo y el gimnasio cerrado además de la cancha de fútbol.
El escenario tiene capacidad para unos 25.000 espectadores y como evento más reciente, recibió la final de la Copa Sudamericana 2023 que ganó Liga de Quito de Ecuador luego de vencer en la final a Fortaleza de Brasil en los penales.
Pero además, el Campus de Maldonado ha sido testigo de partidos del Campeonato Uruguayo, la Supercopa Uruguaya, Sudamericanos Juveniles, Seven de rugby, Mundial Femenino Sub 17 y Copa Libertadores.
Y ahora, el Estadio Domingo Burgueño Miguel se apronta para ser sede de las finales de las dos ramas (masculina y femenina) del FISU América Fútbol 11 en lo que promete ser una gran fiesta.
