Huracán Buceo se quedó con el título de campeón del Torneo Preparación de handball femenino de la Liga Universitaria de Deportes.
La temporada de handball arrancó con novedades y una de ellas fue la disputa del Torneo Preparación que reunió a nueve instituciones para comenzar el 2019.
Luego de la primera fase, con tres series, llegaron las instancias definitorias y la final por la Copa de Oro tuvo a Scuola Italiana, el actual campeón del Torneo Anual, y Huracán Buceo como protagonistas.
Scuola había ganado su serie con dos triunfos, ante Peñarol y Pontevedrés, mientras que Huracán también fue primero en su grupo pero con una victoria frente a Bohemios y un empate con el Club Universidad Católica.
El sábado en el gimnasio del Colegio Saint Brendans, en una gran jornada, las tricoplayeras se quedaron con la victoria por 22 a 19 en un partidazo y levantaron la copa de campeón del Torneo Preparación.
