El Torneo de Fútbol Playa masculino de la Liga Universitaria de Deportes se encamina a la definición y debido a las inclemencias del tiempo las finales fueron reprogramadas.
Con la presencia de cinco equipos, el Estadio Arenas del Plata de la Playa Pocitos viene siendo el escenario para este torneo que ahora se apronta para la definición de la Copa de Oro y de la Copa de Plata.
En la primera jornada que se llevó a cabo el domingo 25 de febrero, Juventud de Las Piedras venció a La Blanqueada por 2 a 1, mientras que Wanderers superó a Colegio Areteia por 6 a 1.
La segunda jornada tuvo lugar el lunes 26 de febrero y a primera hora, Body Factory hizo su estreno con un buen triunfo ante Juventud de Las Piedras por 6 a 3 y luego llegó la victoria de La Blanqueada frente a Colegio Areteia por 3 a 2.
La actividad en Playa Pocitos continuó el 4 de marzo con la tercera jornada y la victoria de Body Factory 7-4 frente a Wanderers y también la de Juventud de Las Piedras sobre Colegio Areteia con un ajustado 4-3.
La cuarta jornada de la fase regular marcó el triunfo de Juventud de Las Piedras frente a Wanderers por 3 a 0 y el empate entre Body Factory y La Blanqueada 3-3, mientras que la quinta y última etapa fue suspendida por las inclemencias del tiempo.
Cabe recordar que el Torneo de Fútbol Playa de la Liga Universitaria de Deportes se disputa con una primera fase de una rueda todos contra todos para luego pasar a la definición. Los dos primeros de la fase regular se medirán en la final de la Copa de Oro, mientras el tercero y cuarto jugarán por la Copa de Plata.
Y respecto a la definición, la misma estaba prevista para disputarse este miércoles 20 de marzo, pero debido a la alerta roja que rige por estas horas en Uruguay, la actividad quedó suspendida.
En tal sentido, las finales del Torneo de Fútbol Playa —si el estado del tiempo lo permite— serán este jueves 21 de marzo en el Estadio Arenas del Plata de Pocitos.
La final de la Copa de Plata abrirá la jornada a las 21:00 horas con el encuentro entre La Blanqueada (tercero) y Wanderers (cuarto), mientras que desde las 22:00 se definirá la Copa de Oro entre Juventud de Las Piedras (primero) y Body Factory (segundo).
