La selección uruguaya de beach handball obtuvo la medalla de oro en los Juegos Universitarios de Playa que se disputaron en Mar de Ajó.
El fin de semana, bajo estrictas medidas de cuidado y prevención debido a la pandemia de coronavirus que sacude al mundo, Argentina organizó los Juegos Universitarios de Playa en Mar de Ajó.
Con la organización de la Federación del Deporte Universitario Argentino (FEDUA), la Universidad Atlántida Argentina y el Municipio del Partido de la Costa, el evento tuvo la presencia de más de 750 deportistas universitarios.
Pero no todo fue tan fácil. El viernes los organizadores suspendieron la ceremonia de apertura y durante las competencias se restringió el acceso al público en las tribunas con el objetivo de no correr riesgos.
Y todo salió bien. Las disciplinas tuvieron sus torneos y en beach handball la Liga Universitaria de Deportes dijo presente con la participación de la selección femenina dirigida por Maximiliano Malfatti.
El equipo celeste tuvo una notable actuación, ganó todos sus partidos sin ceder ni un set y se terminó quedando con la medalla de oro en los Juegos Universitarios de Playa.
